SUMMARY:Séminaire Dmitry Budker "Physics and application of nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond"
DESCRIPTION:Dmitry Budker\, Professor of Graduate School\, University of California at Berkeley &  Professor of Physics\, Johannes Gutenberg University\, Mainz \nAbstract: In this tutorial aimed at interested physicists not yet familiar with this system\, I will explain what these color centers are\, explain their remarkable properties that make them attractive for applications in sensing\, and then describe how optical magnetometers based on NV centers work and what can they be useful for. Our group has been involved in NV-diamond work\, and various research articles and reviews we have contributed to can be found at: http://budker.berkeley.edu/PubList.html#NV-diamond_magnetometry \nSalle D115 \n
